VIPR Decommission Update: Extending Deadline

After reviewing the current progress of validation and testing and listening to input from stakeholders, we have made the decision to extend the decommissioning of the VIPR platform into the first quarter of 2025. This additional time will ensure that all data mappings are fully validated, interfaces are functioning accurately, and participants have ample time for training and preparation.

Over the coming months, we will continue to provide regular updates and schedule validation sessions tailored to your organization’s needs. Our priority remains to deliver a seamless and successful migration, minimizing disruptions to your operations while enhancing the statewide health information exchange.

Should you have any questions or wish to discuss your organization’s specific transition needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Help Desk or your network representative.

Value Partnerships: Making health care work better for 20 years

(from crainsgrandrapids.com)

For the past 20 years, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, together with 33 physician organizations, 100+ hospitals and 20,000 physicians across the state, have worked closely on a collection of programs that create a more efficient, affordable, high-performing health care system. These programs are called Value Partnerships.

Multiple Value Partnerships initiatives spurred every hospital, physician organization and more than 60% of skilled nursing facilities in the state to connect to MiHIN. Now, they transmit 82 million messages per month via the network, notifying physicians when their patients have been seen in the ER, admitted, discharged or transferred from the hospital and what their lab results are. This enables physicians to quickly follow up with their patients and ensure care is coordinated.
