National Skilled Nursing Care Week

(from prnewswire.com)

During National Skilled Nursing Care Week (May 11–17), MiHIN and PointClickCare's partnership was recognized for its continued impact on skilled nursing facilities across the state.

Since joining forces in 2022, MiHIN and PointClickCare have enabled over 100 skilled nursing facilities in Michigan to securely access real-time patient data. This collaboration has significantly improved care coordination, enhanced post-acute care transitions, and strengthened the state’s health data infrastructure.

By providing timely updates on patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, the partnership is helping care teams deliver more informed, efficient, and connected care for Michigan’s seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Valuing Veterans - Connecting for Better Health

Many veterans engage with healthcare and community services without disclosing their veteran status, leading to missed opportunities to tailor their care journey with specialized support and resources.

MiHIN and the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) teamed up for May’s Download webinar to discuss this. The conversation focused on how identifying veteran status within healthcare settings can improve outcomes, streamline access to benefits, and ensure no veteran falls through the cracks.

Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to shed light on the importance of mental health and the resources available to support it. At MiHIN, we recognize the vital role mental health plays in overall well-being, and are committed to breaking down barriers to care and showcasing how collaboration can help improve mental health services in Michigan.

Today, nearly every community mental health (CMH) organization across the state is connected to MiHIN in some way — a significant milestone in our shared journey toward more coordinated, person-centered care.

But we’re not stopping here.

Our future vision is one where all CMHs fully utilize MiHIN’s suite of data exchange solutions to ensure that individuals receive timely, informed, and compassionate care. We believe that real progress in mental health care requires breaking down data silos, improving interoperability, and supporting the unique needs of each community through collaboration and connectivity.
